This past weekend was full of musical artistry at its finest. Friday I headed to Room 2 for “Flirt & Flow”, the latest project by artist, Russoul. Flirt & Flow is a new experience that puts the focus on the artist. In his own words, Russoul wanted an experience that allowed him to introduce artists he loves, admires and respects. Russoul encourages fellow artists to come out and see what this new experience is all about. Joining him in this new venture are singers, Jon Pierce and Sheree Hicks. Both of these amazing artists are similar in their ability to pour their hearts out on the stage and connect with their audiences. They have shared their gifts and in their performances we dance to the words they bring to life. I’m looking forward to the continued evolution of this event. An event to celebrate artists and their gifts is much needed in Chicago.Read More
Monique took the stage with her signature sultry voice and sang crowd favorites like “Deep in the Bottom”, “Elevator”, “Take me to my Love” and more. Monique has such an incredible voice and stage presence and watching her in a more intimate environment like the Renaissance Bronzeville really allowed the crowd to connect with her in a different wayRead More
I spent Sunday recuperating from another groove filled weekend but I wouldn’t have it any way. Our parties and our house music are as diverse at our city. There is always house music to enjoy no matter what your preference is. That’s the beauty of house music in Chicago!Read More
The result was threefold; a night filled with love, raising money for a family that’s been a part of this community for decades and an opportunity to show what happens when we gather together united by the music for a common purpose. It’s what a community feels like. Its how a community operates and behaves. It’s incredibly special and feels amazing and it’s what I love about this music scene and why I continue to be a part of it... moments like these, when we come together...In spite of it all.Read More
Chicagoans are built tough. Extreme Weather conditions couldn’t keep us from enjoying the music we love. In spite of the weather, house people got out and enjoyed great music, great parties and great people!Read More

There are special moments when you see how beautiful this music and our house community is, how rich in musical diversity our city is and the beauty of our eclectic audiences. At our core, that’s what unites the Chicago House Community…it is and will always be because of the music. On the day we honor Dr. King for his vision and his legacy along with the birthday of Frankie Knuckles, this weekend serves as a great reminder of the strength of what unites us.
