His name is synonymous with the great’s in house music. Responsible for opening the warehouse and Music box and introducing us to Frankie Knuckles and Ron Hardy, Robert Williams is House Music Royalty.  Throwing and promoting parties since the 1970s, he is a master at creating events people love to attend.  This year, house people gathered at the Elastic Arts Café to celebrate Robert Williams’s birthday. The room was a “who’s who” of the Chicago House Community.  DJs, producers, Recording artists and dancers all came together from every side of the city to pay tribute to a living legend.

The resident DJs behind the ultra-successful world recognized BANG Sunday’s, kicked off a new weekly residence at the Renaissance Bronzeville this past Sunday night.  Soul-frica started as a once a month event while they were doing BANG Sundays.  It incorporates the soul of house music offering a musical gumbo filled with the sounds of Afro, Tribal, Latin, R&B and soulful house music on a Sunday night.

IT'S MY "BLOG-AVERSRY"!!!

Today is my One Year BLOGAVERSARY!!! That’s right, one year ago today, I launched Black Widow’s Web! Check out my very first post HERE!   I launched this website initially to promote my music and other projects.  As time progressed, my thoughts shifted.  Chicago is home to a thriving house music scene.  We are fortunate to be the birthplace of this incredible genre of music we call house. I started thinking about all the amazing DJs, artists, producers, music and parties in our city and noticed there wasn’t a space for our stories to be told.  It’s so important to tell the story of our culture and to preserve it in some way for future generations, sharing our experiences and the wealth that is the Chicago House Scene.  I wanted to document my experience as a lover of house music and as a house music recording artist.  This website would be my contribution to sharing that rich story.

All Hail The Queens!!!

Presented by DJ Solkat and Joey Jazz, the Queens of House picnic has become an annual Chicago house tradition featuring an all-female DJ lineup. It’s a tour de force of SHE-Jays who know how to beat a dancefloor and make the dancers sweat!   This year’s picnic was no exception!  House people came out early with their families and friends and setup for a day full of fun, fellowship and good music!   The grills were going, the drinks were flowing and ladies filled the atmosphere of Calumet Park with nothing but banging beats until the sun set.
