A Night with Louie Vega

Louie Vega is a Grammy award winning DJ, producer  and label owner whose work is synonymous with House and Dance Music.  He’s a “DJ’s”…DJ!   A living legend, his music is heard on dance floors all around the world.  Last Friday night, Louie Vega came to Chicago for an all-night set at Smart Bar. I knew I was in for a treat as patrons stood outside in the cold Chicago air waiting to get in to the club.

Louie Vega wasted no time on the decks. He jumped in and gave a jammed packed club exactly what they wanted, playing his classic hits along with some of his favorites from Ron Trent, Terry Hunter and more.   The diverse crowd at Smart Bar couldn’t get enough, frequently shouting cheers of agreement and enthusiasm for the dance music legend.   The crowd’s energy was off the meter!

Vega has a wonderful ability to read a room and give the crowd exactly what they want (whether they know it or not). His diverse musical tastes were evident in his set as he switched genres frequently, proving that there is only one genre… “Good Music”.   His skills on the table are unmatched providing a master class for the many DJs in attendance.

The entire vibe at Smart Bar felt so good.  Louie’s DJ style has that effect on you.  When he plays, you just feel good and want to dance.  It was the perfect end to a workweek and the perfect start to the weekend! The energy was good, the vibe was positive and the music was incredible!

Just another groove filled night in Chicago! Until next time,

See ya on a dance floor
